He informs Jake that Battlescars is going back on tour for three months. What everyone doesn’t know is that Jake is worn down and sick of the same old shit.

His record label hires Aubrey’s dads company to fly him around for the last minute tour. In order to keep her dad's company afloat they will have to learn to play nice. When Jake first meets Aubrey she refuses to even acknowledge his existence. He sees her as refreshing and a challenge.

Both of them have some pretty heavy scars from their pasts holding them back. Can Jake get Aubrey to let him in? Or will she shoot him down based on his outlandish reputation? Will her fear of getting hurt again keep him out for good?

Are the two of them a match in heaven or hell?

Amazing

Battlescars is an amazing book and I absolutely loved it! It's so different than the normal bad boy rocker book and trust me I have read enough of them. I was hooked from the beginning, I loved the banter between Jake and Aubrey, I was literally laughing out loud a few times... I can't wait for the next book to come out...fabulous job Sophie!! Also I would like to know why the heck are the first 3 reviews you see on this book 1 star ratings...when 63/89 gave it 5 stars and only 4/89 gave it 1 star?? Come on Amazon...I usually always look at the first reviews and wouldn't have read this book had my friend not told me how good it was!

No wit and all whine!

I got this book because the heroine was describes as a witty smart ass and the male character as a bad boy rocker. What you got was Aubrey as a whiney chick that I didn't warm to at all. And Jake was about as bad boy as my 6-year-old daughter. I could relate to these characters at all. When Aubrey "spat" out comments and it made Jake "love this girl," it made me roll my eyes. Her comments weren't that great or sarcastic. The author really wanted them to be but they weren't.

There was a lot going on in a short period of time...whew!!

I liked this story of a rocker and the damaged (literally) young woman he meets and falls in love with on a private jet. There were a few things that I was a little put off by: the speed their romance took off...it was a bit unrealistic for a supposed bad boy rocker to fall in love with her in a couple of days and her behavior on the flight at their first meeting was really childish and inappropriate (especially when she was working for her dad who told her he really "needed" his business).
Besides a few typos and parts where things just seemed to move along way too quickly with little explanation, it had a lot of interesting twists and turns and definitely, the sexy scenes between Aubrey and Jake were hot but not too explicit.
There was a lot of pretty disturbing and sickening violence that occurs towards Aubrey (both in present day and past) but that is what makes her the tough survivor she is and the strong partner that Jake needs to be by his side. Battlescars definitely refers to more than the name of Jake's band....
All in all I enjoyed reading this book and am ready to jump into Part 2 (Blake and Piper's story)...which I am looking forward to because of the kinky chemistry those two had in this book.

Wonderful!

Our daughter loves this book! She tries to stay awake every time but sometimes sleep catches her! We will soon read this to her brother when he fights sleep. Sweet, with an effective message!

As a father to 3 little ones, and as the author of Children's Book: Lonny the Lion Loves his Sweets! (Bedtime Stories Collection), I can greatly relate to the daily challenge of implementing healthy routines to our children's lives. Whether it's acquiring good sleeping habits, or eating nourishing food, our little ones need to realize the importance of these daily routines, and this book does a great job at this!

An almost perfect blend of art and words -- a book to read often to the little ones.

Even though everybody -- people and creatures -- has BIG eyes, I found the illustrations striking, relaxing and beautiful. Except I would've wished for more facial expressions--the mouth never changed, rather static. I guess this is a style of anime art, which the artist , Phoenix Chan, created with originality and tenderness.

The lines are melodic, simple and soothing, although perhaps a bit repetitious. Sweet are all the creatures -- frog, wolf cub, fairy, panda, a robot -- all dolls or toys that the boy has with him in his room and bed. That's a tender touch of appreciation and imagination. The warm and tender relationship between boy and father is deeply moving. Dads should read this book to their children often!
